No matter what your background is and where you came from, as long as you are eager to make ways to achieve your dreams by maximizing the resources that you have in your current state, you’ll go a long way. And sometimes, all we need is a little push and validation that we can do things, not just from other people but also from ourselves.
Listen as our guest for today, Krieshia Pearson, shares her love for people in general, and how she was able to come up with activities that will bring her community together and leverage from it eventually by also giving her community value from what she does.
Kieshia is a veteran and special education therapist. Before getting into real estate, she helped autistic children and adults who are under the special needs community in Sioux. Kieshia already has her own real estate team as of today, and everyone in her team is military-affiliated.
Here’s What You Missed
Where the passion for real estate came from
- “When I would see people and their family going into their homes, like that just meant everything to me.” (02:27)
- “As I got older, I’m sure as everyone does, I like to drive past people’s house and see how they have it decorated.” (02:50)
- “…while it was something I wanted, it wasn’t something that I needed.” (04:23)
Leverage through your resources
- “As realtors, we don’t have too many ways other than treat my clients right, maybe help me with a little bit of marketing.” (08:31)
- “I’ve had that question asked a lot, like, how did you know they would do it? Well, I didn’t know they would do it. I had no clue if they would do it, but I knew I didn’t have the resources.” (12:52)
Reaching out to key people
- “I honestly think it was just, I have learned over my 28 years of life, most people want to give you what you want, you just have to ask.” (12:43)
- “Thank you for giving me a way that I can also support your business because as realtors know, title companies and mortgage lenders, their businesses do come from us. So of course, they’re looking for ways to support. So just ask.“ (13:45)
- “I didn’t feel bad asking and I thought we’re both getting something out of it.” (14:10)
Empowering everyone around you
- “You are no better than the next person and at any moment, you could fall into despair or something could happen.” (15:31)
- “…you do need to uplift, inspire and empower everyone around you. We all have an energy and what happens when you’re around people, whether you know it or not, is they’re absorbing your energy.” (15:58)
- “Another thing my mom instilled in me is everywhere you go, whether you like it or not, people are going to follow you and you have to look back and say, are you confident and happy with where you led those people? Because they’re going to follow you whether you want them to or not.” (16:16)
Finding houses that are pre-foreclosure
- “This is not hopeless. Let’s get you out of here with some money and sell your house. I think giving them hope is very important in the world we’re in today.” (22:58)
- “It’s free. You can actually go online and look up the pre-foreclosures.” (23:10)
- “Your lenders can get that information, as can title companies. Again, guys leverage your resources.” (23:27)
The “I can” mindset
- “…take your broker’s voice out of your head and think what is best for my family, because, at the end of the day, those are the only people that truly matter.”
- “I would say words are very powerful and truly they are. So whether you say you can, or you say you can’t, you’re right.” (40:16)
- “I hope that you guys just reframe your mindset from I can’t to I can, because whatever you’re telling yourself, you guys, your literal cells are trying to make that true.” (44:10)
- “The world, the universe, God, whoever source, whatever you believe in, they want you to succeed.” (44:42)
- “…the people in your corner do want you to succeed, but you have to all also on that.” (45:18)
